I did this for keu's tryout to colour his comic : hex the lost tribe. I wasn't chosen but that's. ok because there was a chance I might not have been able to give a full commitment due to the day job. Anyway it was fun to do!
It's amazing how close your color scheme is from the one of Michael Spicer. At first glance I though I've missed your name when I faved it. You greatly caught the darkness of the piece though, and in some regards, I find your piece stronger. For instance, the rock texture work great on the shoulders, forearms and hips, a bit strong maybe, but that definitely brings dimension to the main character. The lighting scheme is robust and more precise. A strong point for the artwork of Michael Spicer is it's consistency with the lineart. In his piece, the inks seems a lot more fuzzy than in yours. I think it's partially due to the lineart being maroon, but also to it's more chaotic style.
