Woohoo! - So my book *finally* arrived today at Officeworks after almost 2 weeks! They did an excellent job of colour-matching too btw.
So here's some shots of the book and a selection of the pages inside. Not all, because that would be boring plus you can see them all in my gallery here anyway.
Just be fully aware.... THIS BOOK IS NOT FOR SALE!!, so don't ask...
The book is purely for my own vanity and reference and there is and shall only ever be ONE copy of it in existance and it's MINE!
Anyway, now to start the next book...!! It's kind of a relief to have gotten this one done and off to the printers. As I build them up I have to think about what pics I want to put in it and it limits what I'm selecting to colour. This one threatened to be overwhelmed by Velocity, Spiderman and Aphrodite IX pics... Now for the first time in a year or so I have a clean slate once again and can pretty much do what I want for a while, at least until the pages start to fill up again...
It's also nice now because I've also gotten all the pics that I wanted to see printed from my backlog gallery-o-stuff between this and the book I did previously so I can really start a-fresh with new things.
Otherwise the reason I've been scarce posting new pics the past few weeks is because a) I've been doing some graphic stuff for the school where I work, and b) It's almost end of term and I'm flat out busy with marking tests etc (bleah...) and other general day-job stuff teaching the kiddies. Plus I chose to colour a witchblade picture by David Nakayama - you probably know the one - and it's taking FOREVER to do all the witchblade-y bits and especially the hair!
it's A4 in size as that's what the Officeworks "photobooks" are produced in, so there was some cropping here and there but not too much.
'Ex Machina' is very rough latin for 'out of the device' which I thought was a nice play on the words since my art comes out of a machine doesn't it? More correct latin would be 'ars ex fabrica' which is 'art from the machine' which was my original idea for a title but it doesn't sound as good so I went with the rougher version. Besides it plays better in English as well.
hmm...somehow yes..but i woulc call it more a tool like a pack of brushes and colors ect ars in english seems really not so good so i understand that you picked the other variation.
its a nice idea and easyer to show people when they want to take a look at, by the way since your a school teacher..do the kids know what you do in your free time and how do they react?
do you used the standard us comic format for it?
by the way why did you called it ex machina ?

My art is there, but my name isn't.
It is okay. At least it is your only copy. You can just write it in at the bottom...
It looks fun. Glad you did it and hope you are able to use it for an interview.
