Errrgghhhh.... feeling like I've been hit with a cricket bat a few times right now. A totally crap night with bones and muscles aching, head thumping, can't breathe, throat feels like I've swallowed a football...
Of course us teachers bing it on ourselves. Not only are we exposed to the diseases and maladies of over a 1000 students and staff every single day, but we also deny that we're getting sick and come to work anyway because oh deary me, the kid's education would simply collapse without us there, and little Johnny would never become an astronaut if he doesn't learn about the social order of Ancient Egypt tomorrow!!!
Plus we must have the only job on the planet where we have to *do* work to take a day *off* work. My wife and daughter get sick, they just ring up the boss, say they're not coming in, and forget about the place. No... teachers have to make up lessons that the kiddies can do while we're away as part of the 'duty of care'. Yeah well, who *cared* that they were giving me their Ebola or whatever I've caught off them...?
So anyway, tomorrow off work with an option on Tuesday... and maybe Wednesday as well if things don't get any better...
Ok, off to write up something for the kiddies to do tomorrow... bleah...
cheers
Sean
